Scott was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma as an undergraduate and graduated from the University of Tulsa School of Law in 2003.
While in law school, Scott worked for two years as a legal intern at the Drummond Law Firm, PLLC, a boutique firm focusing on the litigation of banking, employment, real estate and oil and gas disputes. During that time, Scott was fortunate to work directly with one of Oklahoma’s most highly respected trial attorneys, Gentner Drummond.
Between 2004 and 2011, Scott practiced at the law firm of Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison & Lewis, P.C., a large general practice and litigation firm with offices in Oklahoma and Colorado. Scott represented clients in a wide array of legal disciplines including bankruptcy, consumer rights, personal injury, real property, construction and commercial transaction disputes.
In 2012, Scott joined Taussig & Taussig, P.C. (now Taussig & Smith, P.C.) He practices in the areas of worker’s compensation, personal injury and insurance bad faith in both federal and state courts throughout Colorado.
Scott is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA) and the American Association of Justice (AAJ). Scott is admitted to practice in the Colorado Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the State of Colorado, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the State of Colorado, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
